Tim McGraw’s Three Favorite Cuts From New Album “Two Lanes of Freedom”
“Truck Yeah” (written by Chris Janson, Preston Brust, Chris Lucas and Danny Myrick)
“Kenny (Chesney) and I were out on tour last summer. There was a lot of energy. It was outdoors. And that song just seemed like the perfect song to be out on tour with at the time. It was fun and energetic, and I loved what it said.”
“Two Lanes of Freedom” (Jaren Johnston and Jenn Schott)
“It’s so cool. There’s such a Country lyric and a Country melody on that song, but the track just seems so big on it. When we play it live, it really elevates the stage. I don’t know what it is, but it has a bigness to it.”
“Highway Don’t Care” (Brad Warren, Brett Warren, Mark Irwin, Josh Kear)
“What’s great about the song, it’s not a duet, but it’s set up in a perfect way for three artists to be on it. Keith (Urban) is not singing. He’s playing guitar. But Taylor (Swift) is singing with me on it, and she’s awesome! It’s this great symbiotic relationship.”

Tim McGraw shares his thoughts on making major business changes in an established career.
“First of all, I wouldn’t advise anybody! For me, I was just looking for someone who understood what I wanted out of my music, what I wanted to do with my music, how much I care about what I do. I like to feel like I have a knowledge about what I do, how I do it. I’m not going to go in and record a song because that person would have a hit with it or this person would have a hit with it. I find songs that uniquely fit what I do, and I wanted to find somebody who understood that. It’s not just about going out and finding music and writing music and all those things that you do that fit you as an artist. And I felt Big Machine Records was the best place for me to do that.”
