Carly Simon reveals ‘You’re So Vain’ secret to Taylor Swift
Did classic rocker Carly Simon reveal the answer to one of Rock and Roll’s best-kept secrets?
“Who is “You’re So Vain” written about?,” Taylor Swift asked the legendary rocker, in a new video released today to promote Swift’s ongoing and highly-successful RED Tour.
“I’ve already told you, and I’ve told you never to tell — so you know,” Simon says in answer to Swift.
The two performed the smash, classic rock hit together Saturday, July 27 before a sold-out crowd of 55,000 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
In the video, Taylor and Swift perform the surprise duet, and are interviewed together, with Taylor promising not to tell. She simply lifts a finger to her mouth, and makes a faint “shhhhh” sound to the camera after admitting she knows the answer.
Swift played two sold-out nights in Foxborough as part of her six-month RED Tour, with 66 shows, which includes 13 stadiums in 47 cities in 29 states and three North American provinces. Later in 2013, Taylor’s tour will hit Australia and New Zealand, and she will become the first solo female artist in 20 years to undertake a national stadium tour of Australia.
