CHRIS STAPLETON: LIVE@CMA

Mercury Nashville artist Chris Stapleton stopped by CMA for a Live@CMA performance, where he performed acoustic versions of some of his biggest songwriting hits, as well two new songs of his own, including “What Are You Listening To?”, his debut single available now on iTunes.

In the video below, you can also see Stapleton perform No. 1 hits “Love’s Gonna Make It Alright,” made popular by George Strait, “Come Back Song” a Darius Rucker hit, and his own song “You Should Probably Leave.”

Stapleton also talks on the video about life as a successful songwriter, saying “I got a lot better at playing guitar and felt the need to write songs more. I became more and more interested in that than whatever I was doing in college, so you could say [songwriting] picked me in a way.” For the past decade, Stapleton has written over 150 songs for many hit artists including Adele, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, and Dierks Bentley. He has been awarded six ASCAP Awards and was nominated for three Grammy Awards for his work with Bluegrass band, The SteelDrivers.

Stapleton is currently on tour, playing various shows across the country now through August. Visit Chris Stapleton’s official website at ChrisStapleton.com, or follow him on Twitter, @chrisstapleton.
