CMA welcomes one of its newest members, Kenny Foster, who stopped by March 19, 2014 to sign up for CMA membership.

Kenny has been gaining momentum locally and nationally as an emerging Country artist. He has long-since established himself as a thoughtful, creative songwriter, participating in the sophomore class of ASCAP’s GPS program. Kenny has performed with numerous artists including Lady Antebellum, Kacey Musgraves, Buddy Miller, Charlie Worsham, Mindy Smith, and, most recently, Marc Broussard.

A native of Joplin, Mo., Kenny’s 2011 song “Hometown” found its way to Country radio and was featured in the series finale of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”, with a video appearing on GAC and CMT, and all proceeds going to the United Way for tornado relief.

He’s received media attention from publications including The Washington Post, The New York Times and Forbes Magazine. He was featured in two Super Bowl campaigns, the first with hit singer-songwriter, Sheryl Crow, and the second with NASCAR driver, Danica Patrick.

In addition to his musical efforts, Kenny is also co-founder of a benevolent boot company Botas, Hombre, which seeks to reverse the cycle of generational poverty in Guatemala. His self-titled EP will release on Tuesday, April 29th.  The single “Animal” will release to radio that same day.

“When you first come to town, it feels like you’re on the outside looking in,” said Foster about becoming a CMA member. “When you start to become part of the conversation, it feels almost surreal, like it’s someone else. Being accepted as an Artist into the CMA is a validating step towards the career I’ve always hoped I’d have. I appreciate their support now, and look forward to their continued support in the future.”
