COUNTRY MUSIC WAVES FROM C TO SHINING C
Though born and bred in the United States, Country Music has become a worldwide phenomenon, as Cheryl and Glenn Bengough attest. In 2013, the British couple traveled to the States for CMA Music Festival and loved it enough to come back again this year.
When back home in England, the Bengoughs keep close to Country through the annual Country 2 Country/C2C concerts, which take place at London’s and Dublin’s O2. Beginning in 2013 and co-sponsored by CMA, the two-day festival has featured many big names in the Country Music industry.
Rascal Flatts performed at C2C in March and answered a few questions regarding their performance overseas during their CMA Festival HGTV Lodge Q&A session on Thursday.
“We love the U.K.!” Gary remarked. “The difference between people from the U.K. and people in the States is that those from the U.K. don’t get (to see) Country Music very much. They’re so appreciative and can’t believe Country artists have flown across the pond to perform for them.”
Gary then donned his best British accent and mimicked the grateful responses he’s received abroad, bringing the crowd to laughter.
