Born and raised in rural Bloomfield, Iowa, Mitch Goudy faced a personal crisis early in his life when a knee injury permanently limited his ability to play sports. To help him get through this difficult transition, his father bought him a guitar, put it in his hands and said, “Let’s see what you can do.”

That moment changed Goudy’s life. Inspired by a wide range of artists that included Garth Brooks, Eric Church, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger and James Taylor, he honed his performing skills to the point that he could release a debut single, “Blow These Speakers Out,” (written by Goudy and Justin Hill) in the fall of 2013.

Since then, Goudy has filled his calendar with performance dates, shared stages with Rodney Atkins, Joe Nichols and The Oak Ridge Boys, and released another single, “Ain’t My Fault” (Goudy, Hill and Diana Upton-Hill). His first album, Rowdie, produced by Goudy and Hill, will release in October on Third Floor Records.

Just 19 years old, Goudy expressed something close to wonder in the days leading up to his first CMA Music Festival in 2014: “I cannot wait! I grew up reading and seeing the artists that take part in this festival and now I’m going to be one of them! I’m ready to meet every Country fan, sign autographs in my own booth and just take it all in.”
