Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman Lends a “Ham”
Her appearance on Nov. 17 at Shoppers Food and Pharmacy in College Park, Maryland, marked the launch of her “Lend a Ham” partnership with Smithfield. Its goal is to donate one million servings of protein to needy families by Dec. 24.
Check out this video and see how Schlapman went incognito to get the initiative underway, by handing out gift certificates to buyers.
Others can join the campaign more visibly, by simply doing an act of good will and sharing it with the hashtag #LendAHam on Twitter or the Smithfield Facebook page. These could include serving meals at a soup kitchen, donating a coat to someone in need, shoveling the sidewalk for a neighbor or any other gesture that reflects the holiday spirit.
For every such act, Smithfield will donate one serving of protein to a local food bank with the goal to reach one million servings.
